To honor the deceased Veterans of Cumberland County, the taxpayers of the county have provided more than 18,500 U.S. flags to various Veterans’ organizations and cemetery associations to decorate the graves of our Veterans in the 120 cemeteries within the county.

These flags will be placed on the Veterans’ graves prior to Memorial Day, and will remain on the graves until at least the first working day after the Fourth of July. This period is mandated by state law, according to a news release from the Cumberland County Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
