Construction on Cumberland County’s Sample Bridge, which began on April 20, will be completed in spring of 2021. The county-owned bridge that runs over the Conodoguinet Creek in Silver Spring Township will be demolished and a new bridge will be built. The four-span bridge, located on Sample Bridge Road, carries approximately 800 vehicles daily.
“Sample Bridge, which was built in 1957, is in poor structural condition,” said Cumberland County Planning Director Kirk Stoner. “This replacement is one of many county-owned bridges that are being replaced due to age and wear.”
