PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE is hereby given that at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, a Public Hearing will be held by the Newville Borough Council at 4 West Street, Newville, Pennsylvania 17241. The purpose of the Public Hearing will be to review Ordinance 2019-08 which is an Ordinance establishing the police pension plan for the Borough of Newville and providing requirements for eligible officers and provisions. Specifically, Compliance, Eligibility, Leave of Absence, Deductions, Pension Rate, Police Officer Discharge, Employment Credit for Military Service, Surviving Spouse Benefit, Killed-in-Service Provision, Cost-of-Living Adjustments, Surety Bond, Records Available for Inspection, Rules to Effectuate Intent and Purpose, Administrative Expenses, Hearing of Grievances, and Non-eligibility for Fund Membership. Following the Public Hearing, the Council of the Borough of Newville may consider and adopt the Ordinance. If adopted, the effective date of the Ordinance would be September 24, 2019.
