NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Supervisors of Southampton Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, of its intention to consider for adoption and to vote upon the following proposed Ordinance at a regular meeting, open to the public, on Monday, February 10, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. prevailing time, said meeting to be at the Southampton Township Municipal Building, 200 Airport Road, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania 17257. In the event action is not taken at the aforesaid time, the Board may take action and vote upon said Ordinance at another public meeting not less than seven (7) nor more than sixty (60) days following the publication of this notice. Due to the length of the Ordinance, the entire text is not set forth herein. A summary of the principal provisions thereof is as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 2020-1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE SUPERVISORS OF SOUTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, ESTABLISHING A FOUR-WAY STOP AT THE INTERSECTION OF AIRPORT ROAD (T-380), HERSHEY ROAD (T-316) AND NEIL ROAD (T-381) AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON AIRPORT ROAD AT THAT INTERSECTION. If adopted, the Ordinance would require that all vehicles traveling east and west on Airport Road (T-380) stop at its intersection with Hershey Road (T-316) and Neil Road (T-381),thereby creating a four-way stop at that intersection. The Ordinance would further authorize the Supervisors to place stop signs at the appropriate locations on Airport Road at and near that intersection and any other related signs at the intersection in accordance with rules and regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. Any person violating the Ordinance would be subject to the provisions of the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that a copy of the proposed Ordinance is available for examination without charge at the Southampton Township Municipal Building, 200 Airport Road, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania 17257.
