PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE is hereby given that at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, a Public Hearing will be held by the Newville Borough Council in accordance with Act 15 of 2020. Comments regarding the proposed Ordinance will be accepted by the Borough "Council as follows: 1. By written letter to the Borough Council. The correspondence must be received by U.S. Mail or may be placed in the drop-box at the Borough Office by 6:00 p.m. on June 30, 2020. 2. By email to the Borough Council at The email must be received by 6:00 p.m. on June 30, 2020. 3. By placing a comment on the Newville Borough Youtube channel during the time of the meeting. The purpose of the Public Hearing will be to review Zoning Ordinance 2020-06 which is an Ordinance of the Borough of Newville, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, establishing a shade tree ordinance for the Borough and that provides definitions defining terms involving the planting and maintenance of shade trees. It provides for the need to obtain permits for planting, pruning, trimming, removing or replanting of shade trees. It provides for spacing of shade trees as well as provisions for dealing with storm damage to shade trees. It provides for the enforcement of the Ordinance as well as civil penalties for violation of the Ordinance. Following the Public Hearing, the Council of the Borough of Newville may consider and adopt the Ordinance. If adopted, the effective date of the Ordinance would be five (5) days after adoption.
